Meet our Team

Hope became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2017, completed her PhD in nutritional biochemistry in May 2018, and became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in September 2020. In 2022, Hope earned the FARE Certificate of Training in Pediatric Food Allergy and now also provides comprehensive care for families struggling with food allergies. 

In addition to owning and operating Hope Feeds Families, Hope is employed full time at Winthrop University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Nutrition. At Winthrop, Hope runs a research lab that focuses on helping mothers to reach their infant feeding goals, improving access to human milk, and analyzing the nutritional content of human milk.

In 2024, Hope is expanding to add Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed nutrition counseling to support individuals with disordered eating behaviors to her repertoire.

Dr. Hope Lima

Lactation Consultant and Social Worker

Sydney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of North and South Carolina (LISW-CP/LCSW). Sydney graduated from Clemson University in psychology and received her Masters in Social Work from Winthrop University in 2016. In her journey as a mental health counselor, she enjoys supporting both individuals and families through a multitude of adjustments and challenges in life. 

Sydney became a mother in 2020, where she experienced the enjoyment and challenges associated with breastfeeding. At that time, she connected with Dr. Lima and became interested in learning ways she can merge her license as a Social Worker with Lactation Consulting. Now, as a mother of two young boys, she has the passion for working alongside women as they adjust to becoming mothers.

Sydney Estes

Denee became a Licensed Dietitian in 2023 after completing both her MS in Human Nutrition and her Dietetic Internship at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC (go Eagles!). Denee is also a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and has provided support for pregnant and lactating individuals as well as children under age 5 while working at South Carolina WIC. 

Denee is committed to meeting you where you are. In her own words "I expect nothing more than I can give myself; the ability to have an open and honest conversation in a safe space." She strives to create a warm, inclusive environment to facilitate discussing anything and everything, as if you were sharing a cup of coffee. Her approach with clients is patient-centered, as she believes that the client is the expert in their own journey, where she walks beside you as a guide in an ever-evolving nutrition path.
